Why pH balance is so important in hair and skin care products.
pH 4.5-5.5 - This is where our hair is at its most structurally sound. If you maintain a pH of 4.5-5.5 on the hair itself, you cannot alter or remove color or any other chemical process. Any label can claim to be “color safe” or “pH balanced” (to what? 8,9 or 10?) When a company states the pH range of their product on the label they are committed by the law to that range.
