I offer a treatment called “GET PURE”.

The Get Pure technology employs a unique blend of mild surfactants, natural chelating agents extracted from rice and other ingredients which work together to purify the hair of all types of contaminations. From unknown water quality, medications (prescription or over the counter), algaecides and chemicals from swimming pools/spas, “swimmers green”, cosmetic and styling product buildup, smokers and second hand smoke and even caffein accumulates. The presence of these and other chemicals can interfere with the electrolytic action of the chemical service. In a lot of cases a build up of certain minerals will cause the hair to turn red or have warm tones. Deposits like these will enter the hair and lodge into the cortical layer.

-LEAD & COPPER will oxidize and turn hair purple/orange. Lead acetate is used in some products to cover gray. (metallic colors, Just for Men and Just for Woman and most henna products.)

-WATER is the most common culprit. Whether the water comes from wells, city, pools, spas or other resources. The deposits from algaecides, metals, fluoride and other chemicals will deposit in hair and cause the most adverse reactions to hair color and bleach. (see photos below)

-IRON will oxidize and turn hair pink during lightening. It can cause an excessive dry feeling and may actually change the textural appearance of the hair. Iron deposited daily from water can slowly darken hair and give a reddish cast and make blondes brassy.

-MINERALIZED CALCIUM creates a wall that blocks salon chemicals and builds up on the scalp. Often misdiagnosed as dandruff, it increases hair loss as it clogs the follicles.

-MAGNESIUM is usually found in water and when mixed with calcium and other oxidized minerals can cause trouble in the salon.

-COMPOUND HENNA DYES use lead acetate and other plant dyes mixed with different metallic salts. Hair can turn green, purple, smoke, and if lightener is used on those clients, hair can smoke or turn black. Metallic build up will get hot to the touch. The severity of this reaction will vary, depending on the amount of deposit in the hair and the strength of the products being used by the stylist.

When a negative charged mineral connects with a positive charged hair, it attaches like a magnet. Air is also an oxidizer and it compounds this problem by causing the minerals to bond, creating a layer of tiny rocks that are not visible to the human eye. Failure to remove such deposits internally and externally from the hair could affect the performance of products used on a daily bases. Shampoos and conditioners may not work to their full ability, and styling and finishing products may not live up to their claims. Along with your products not working properly you risk getting chemical burns during a highlight or color service. Schedule a GET PURE treatment before any of your hair services for $40. This service will add 30 minutes to your hair appointment. I highly recommend this if you are a new client, a regular client but have travelled lately, or swam for the summer! Let’s start with a clean slate.

We did a “get pure treatment” before we highlighted the 2 photos above :)
